The new wave of the 1980's has clearly been a source of inspiration for the band. And just like new wave had strong pop appeal, so has The Exploding Boy with their strong and catchy melodies.

Their music is melancholic art for the new generation of indie freaks growing up with great bands like Interpol and The Editors. The Exploding Boy stands for an indie-wave-rock style that will also appeal to fans of The Cure and The Chameleons.

Their 2009 album "Afterglow" has been praised as 'Album of the Year' by belgian and french alternative music press.

Gotham Nights was established in 1995 and is Norway's oldest gothclub with regular clubnights on the last friday of every month.

In the start Gotham Nights was mainly meant to be a "disco" for goths, but it soon became apparent that there also was a need for live shows. Gotham Nights has therefore also become a stage for a number of bands, especially local up-and-coming alternative bands.
